Here P&P editor Melanie Attlesey provides an overview of what you can expect to see in January.

January marks the start of not only a new year, but also a new decade. Perhaps that’s the sign you need to invigorate your business.

Just like in previous years, Printwear & Promotion LIVE! 2020 will showcase the latest and greatest garment decoration equipment to enter the UK market. So, what will you discover during your visit?

Both manual and automatic presses will be well represented at the exhibition, with Screen Print World and Adelco both introducing new presses.

On stand D70 is where you will find Adelco’s latest innovation – the Cyclone range of automatic printing presses. The range is available in three sizes, small medium and large, and is based upon robust, heavy duty foundations. Bespoke lightweight aluminium extrusions and precision CNC parts are fitted with meticulous attention to detail. This is a truly cutting-edge rang of presses.

M&R’s Genesis

Over on stand B70 is where you will find the new Genesis manual screen printing press from M&R. Available in the UK from Screen Print World, this is a four-colour/ one-station entry-level press. It is both economical and efficient.

On the same stand you will also find Screen Print World’s new drying cabinets. These are fully insulated to retain heat and vented to allow the heat to circulate within.

If you’re looking for a way to digitise your screen stencil making then head over to EXILE Technologies’ stand (C32) to take a look at the new SPYDER III computer to screen system. This system applies artwork digitally, with absolute accuracy, directly on to a coated screen.

Lotus Holland’s Evo

And over on stand B62 is where you will find Lotus Holland’s Evo compact reclaiming system. This fully automatic screen reclaiming system is receiving its debut at a UK exhibition and will surely draw a crowd. It uses quality stainless steel with robust European pumps and dependable components to make it a reliable and easy to use system.

AJS Embroidery Services (K10 and L10) will be exhibiting the latest innovation from Tajima – the TMEZ-SC1501 with DCP and ITM technology. Over on the YES Ltd stand (H10) is where you will see on display the latest release from SWF. The new Single series from SWF is receiving its exhibition debut in January. Available in two models (Normal and Compact), users can easily stitch their designs with the SWF Single series. With the Normal type, users can embroider almost anything, including caps. While, the Compact type single-head machine supplies more efficient and compact embroidery work, making it perfectly suitable for those running a small shop. Both machines feature a new larger screen size of 10.4in, with an easy user interface. And what’s more, pictures can now be easily transferred from mobile phones and can be embroidered without any complicated process.

On stand H52, Ricoma UK will be exhibiting the world’s first 20 needle single-head and multi-head embroidery machines. The new Ricoma MT series provides users with a standard range of 12 colours, leaving eight needles free for those one-off jobs. This makes the machine more flexible and in turn the user more profitable.

If you’re looking for something a little different to add to your existing embroidery set up then head over to Stocks Embroidery Solutions on stand H30. Stocks will be demonstrating the new single bead device from ZSK. This device is suitable for most ZSK embroidery machines and can be positioned on either the left or right side. It can handle beads with a curved surface shape, as well as a flat surface.

And finally, Wilcom users will be pleased to know that they will be able to view the latest EmbroideryStudio release on stand J22. The e4.5 update will feature two incredible creative add-on elements that will revolutionise aspects of creative digitising.

Transfer printing

At P&P LIVE! 2020 you will find a whole myriad of transfers, films and vinyls, bold old favourites and new comers, on display.

Lotus heat press

Dae Ha UK (P10) will be bringing to the exhibition One Flex HTV. This user-friendly PU film spearheads Dae Ha’s constant drive to introduce the latest HTVs. The range features 42 colours, including five neons, and easy to see plotter cut lines. It is very easy to weed with a medium/ low release film.

Over on Doro Tape’s stand (A62) you will find Poli-Flex Turbo. Manufacturer Poli-Tape has developed a specialised adhesive that allows the film to be heat pressed in only three to five seconds at comparatively low temperatures. This means Poli-Flex Turbo helps to speed up production and can be used on a wide range of garments, including the most delicate.

To help with your transfer printing, Dae Ha UK and Doro Tape will both be exhibiting complementary equipment.

On Dae Ha’s stand you will find the futuristic looking Rhinotec RC Xa-Series of plotter cutters. These cutters feature a user-friendly, high speed and versatile 630mm cutting system, automated contour cut, which supports software such as Coreldraw, Adode Illustrator, Artcut and Signcut. Also on stand will be heat presses from Lotus.

SkyCut plotter cutter series

Doro Tape will be launching the SkyCut plotter cutter series during the exhibition. The SkyCut C-Series is a desktop machine ideal for hobbyists and start-ups, while the SkyCut V-Series is the next level machine for professionals. Both plotter cutters are manufactured to a high standard with robust metal bodies. What’s more, there are a number of clever features for ease of use, with several nifty optional extras making these plotter cutters possibly the most advanced on the market.

Digital printing

Whether, it’s direct to garment printing, sublimation printing or even wide format printing you specialise in you will be able to find a printer to suit your needs at P&P LIVE! 2020.

Oki’s Pro9541WT

Global Print Solutions (D62) will showcase the recently released Oki Pro9541WT five-colour digital toner transfer media printer. This printer generates flawless vibrant CMYK+white colour and sharp graphics on garments and textiles including cotton, canvas nylon, polyester, leather and felt. Its innovative transfer media technology makes it possible to produce high-quality designs on hard surfaces including ceramics, acrylic, glass, metal, enamel and wood.

On stand G70, visitors will be able to see the return of the BT-12 DTG printer (which premiered last year), the BN-20 printer/cutter and the LEF-12i UV printer from Roland DG (UK). Making its debut on stand is the TrueVIS SG2-300. Earlier this year, Roland DG improved the widely popular TrueVIS range of printer/ cutters, starting with the VG2 series and following later in the year with the SG2 series. At 30in wide, the SG2-300 is the most compact model in the TrueVIS range, but in spite of its size, it still comes with the same advanced technology as its larger siblings. This is an ideal partner for garment decorators or print service providers looking to expand their product range and accelerate production.

In terms of wide format printers, both Sabur Digital (P30) and R.A. Smart (F52) will be exhibiting new models.

The Poseidon

Sabur will take the opportunity to showcase the new award-winning Poseidon high speed sublimation printer. This is a new mid-range 1.6m wide sublimation transfer printer which utilises the same industrial Kyocera printheads used in the true industrial DGI HSFT III. Poseidon is designed for unattended printing, supporting the DGI monitoring app and a new sleep mode, enabling the user to print jobs without being in attendance. This printer is targeted at the mid-level production company who needs a high volume of capacity but also needs the flexibility of multiple printers for different designs.

HP’s Stitch S300

R.A. Smart will be using the exhibition as the exclusive first showing of the HP Stitch S300 model in the UK. The S300 dye sublimation printer, offers customers features such as a built-in spectrophotometer for consistent colour accuracy; the ability to print both paper transfer and direct to textile and the advantage of having the world’s first 100% front operating dye sub printer at 1.6m wide (saving up to 50% on space).

All of you promotional product decorators, did you think we had forgotten you? Well fear not, for you will find three new pieces of equipment perfect for engraving all kinds of products.
